What does a day at the retreat look like?

Down below is a sample itinerary based on previous retreats. This exact schedule does not reflect upcoming retreats, although it will be similar.

  • We meet in Lima two days before your retreat begins.  We'll do a little sightseeing and go out for a meal or two together.

  • Day 1:  After arriving in Pucallpa, we will travel by moto-car to Yarina Puerta where we'll hop on a riverboat and travel about 30 minutes to Tierra Vida.  On this first day, you will meet the staff and settle into living quarters.  We cannot guarantee private lodging but will try to pair you with appropriate roommates.  We will gather in the evening to learn a bit about one another, share our intentions, and maybe do some music or games.  Your food will be all local organic rice, fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, and chicken, prepared in traditional Shipibo fashion. We can easily accommodate any special dietary needs.

  • Day 2- Day 10:  There will be five Ayahuasca ceremonies throughout the retreat.  After each ceremony, we'll have time for integration and sharing.  Ayahuasca can be quite intense for some people, so even though we recommend attending all of the ceremonies, no one is required to do so. There are plenty of things to do in between Ceremonies:  Each morning the Maloka will be available as a Yoga or Meditation space.   There will be a day set aside for a Jungle expedition by boat.  There will be plant walks, with many powerful plant medicines all around, and foods like coconut, cacao, and papaya to harvest - if we're lucky, there’ll be mangoes!   There is a small restaurant with a pool in the village a short walk away, (usually with decent wifi).  If you are interested in making Shipibo arts and crafts, you will have the opportunity to learn.  After our ceremonies, we may visit the town of Pucallpa to explore the culture and markets there.

  • Day 11: A day for rest and reflection.

  • Day 12:  At the end of your stay, we will escort you to the Pucallpa airport and say our farewells.  Continued integration is available if you need to talk about your experiences over the following days, weeks, or months.
